English class


I think the English class in the university is really important, because it helps me not only to know a different language, it helps me to gain access to a lot of knowledge that isn’t in spanish. The English is a useful tool to learn and to communicate.


I like the English class because is very interactive. I think is really good to learn with all the class, having conversations and activities together. 


The blogs are very funny, because the subjects go changing every time. It is funny to read the texts of the rest of classmates about a same subject, everyone has his style and his particular tastes. I think that the blogs are a good form to learn this lenguage, because is necessary write and read constantly.

I think that I need to improve the pronunciation and the fluency. I think that is neccesary more practice talking, maybe with my family maybe in front of the mirror. 

I think is neccesary too to improve my capacity to hear the English. A good idea could be to listen to movies in English with subtitles in English too. If i don't undertend the movie, I am bad.

Outside the English class, I don't use so much the English with other people. I use it more, when I read in Internet. I am doing a lot of works in my house and always look for information in Internet. When I don't find good information in spanish I use the English to look for en Google. The majority of the "google books" and the specializing webs are in English and several good movies aren't in spanish. Is very necessary in those moments.

New Year


I don’t like the New Year. I think is a ridicule date without importance, it’s only an excuse for drink.  However, I celebrate this date all the years with my family. For my family is more an excuse to meet with my others relatives.

The past year, I celebrate the New Year with my parents and brothers and also with my uncles and my cousins. We were in my house and we made a roast in the backyard. It was very nice. While we ate, my uncles and my parents told us anecdotes when I with my uncles was children and made pranks.

The best moment of the night was when, while we waiting the midnight, we start a competition of karaoke. The majority of us were out of tone, but the important was to know the lyrics. It was very funny, a good moment.

In the midnight, we made the traditional ritual: we count…10…9….8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1… Happy New Year! And we hugged.

We saw the fireworks on TV and also we heard fireworks in my neighborhood, but didn’t see it. There is much building for all the places.

After all, the past New Year was very cool. I don’t like the date, but the moment with my family was nice.

Environmentally




I think that in this country there isn’t a conscience about the careful of environmentally. In the school, the teachers talk about this subject for the obligatory curriculum, but not to create a really conscience about this. Lamentably, I haven’t incorporated recycling habits… I think that is because the rhythm of the life do that this isn’t a priority. I had recycled sometimes in some glass recycle container in the outside of supermarkets. I think that other problem is the lack of places to recycler… should have one on every corner.
I don’t use bike, but I like walking… but the majority of the time, I use the public transport to go to the place to other, it is for thing of time.
I agree with the eco-organizations, but I think that is necessary a global conscience to achieve changes in the world. I would like to create organizations in the neighborhood to recycler every month.
I try in my house to reduce the unnecessary use of the light or the water, like the use of the lamps in the day or the excessive time in the shower.
I think that most important that places to recycle in Santiago, is to create conscience in the citizens. It is necessary a different education for all, we need to understand that we are part of a same planet, that if we damage the Earth, we damage ourselves.

"Gold Miner", my favorite game.




I’m not a fanatic of the videogames, but sometimes I play online games in internet.
My favorite game is “Gold Miner”. It’s a really simple game. “Gold miner” is about a miner that must pick up gold and diamonds with a pincers. The game consist in push a bottom of the keyboard for to release the pincers that is balancing just in the moment that is in the correct direction to pick up gold.  Each level has a goal of money and a limit time. The game has many obstacles, like rocks and bones.

I play this game sometimes in the weekends when I’ m exhausted of to think or of to do some productive. I like this game, because is really simple and I mustn’t think too much, only calculate the angles and to be concentrate.

I never complete the game, after the level ten is impossible for me… But, I don’t care… I play for fun.

Daido Moriyama's best photograph




The article I have chosen is related to photography, it is talks about of a photographer and his process and his interests when he takes a photograph.

Daido Moriyama, the photographer, talks about his work. He says that the majority of his work is made on the street, because he likes the cities and visits the people that he encounters there. One example of that, is a photograph of a stray dog lost… in this kind of thing he catches his eye. But sometimes he wants to shoot more erotically charged scenes, such as a woman in tights or a woman's lips.

One of his favorite photographs is “Tights”. He tells that one occasion he was drinking coffee with his girlfriend when he caught a glimpse of her legs. She was dress tights in her legs. He took two rolls of film in under an hour and he spent three hours printing the photographs.

He says that to be a photographer is a constant battle with countless fragments; the camera allows get close to a subject and captures its detail. The photography shows the legs with a geometrical surface, causing the sensation of movement in the legs. Daido Moriyama says: “The world appears very erotic in my eyes”.

KLIMT


Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was an Austrian painter. He started his studies in Vienna School of Arts and Crafts, where he learned and developed an academic and classic style, common in his period. But in the period of avant-gardes, Klimt wanted to look for an own style. He founded the Vienna Secession, an alternative movement for the traditional school.

 

Style…


He is not a realistic painter. He uses female models mainly and converts here bodies in decorative images. He uses the forms in little pieces like a ceramic mosaic. He uses paint with plates of gold for to create shine.

 

I like Klimt because, visually is too attractive for the use of color and the forms and because the theme of his painting is the beauty of woman, but not of a classic form, he explores the eroticism, but too the innocence… young women, mother women, old women.

 

Klimt is capable to mix the visual beauty with the beauty of the women, but doing a critic of the superficial decorative beauty, the women under appearance…

Lourdes


Lourdes was nervious, never before had been interview. I tell here that is a simple thing, is like a conversation. She relax and smile.

She tells me that she is from Ecuador, but she don’t know this country much, because she arrive when was five years. She has memories of here house and the beach. However, she likes Santiago. She loves the city, because she likes the modernity and traveled for the streets... But she has a secret, she don’t know to ride a bicycle. She says that is because she is clumsy…

Jan Svankmajer


Jan Svankmajer is one of the great Czech filmmakers. He was born in 1934 in Prague where he still lives. He trained at the Institute of Applied Arts from 1950 to 1954 and then at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (Department of Puppetry). He soon became involved in the Theatre of Masks and the famous Black Theatre, before entering the Laterna Magika Puppet Theatre where he first encountered film. Svankmajer made his first film in 1964 and for over thirty years has made some of the most memorable and unique animated films ever made, gaining a reputation as one of the world's foremost animators.

His work consists of many short films, like “Dimensions of dialogue” and six films: “Alice”, “Faust”, “Conspirators of pleasure”, Little Otik” and “Surviving life”.

I love this filmmaker because he has a style unique. His work in stop-motion is amazing… I like because  achieve to talk about body and the humans with dolls.

Yerma




I like read books of drama. Is a little strange, because this works are destined for the theater, but I like because I read the dialogues and I imagine to characters in a scene.

This book is “Yerma” by Federico García Lorca. He is a spanish dramatist and poet. His texts are beautiful; he is a very sensitive writer. Others of his famous works are “Blood Wedding” and “The House of Bernarda Alba”.

I like “Yerma” because his dialogues are very poetic and because I love the protagonist, a woman calls Yerma. She lives a tragedy:  her dream is to become a mother, but her husband is infertile.

Here a of my favorites quotes:

VÍCTOR. ¿Qué coses?
YERMA. Corto unos pañales.
VÍCTOR(Sonriente.) ¡Vamos!
YERMA(Ríe.) Los voy a rodear de encajes.
VÍCTOR. Si es niña le pondrás tu nombre.

"Woman in red stockings"



In this occasion I choose a picture that I love. The picture is “Woman in red stockings”, was painting byEgon Schiele in 1913.

Egon Schiele is a Austrian painter, he was pupil of Gustav Klimt (autor of the famous “The Kiss”). Schiele is a expressionism painter, he made a lot of watercolors. Mainly, he painting a women models and self-portraits. He was obsessed by represent the woman in a beautiful erotic aspect.


This picture show a woman’ body, but don’t show her face or her foots. Is mysterious and captivate. The woman is up her dressed and show her legs. Other peculiarity of this picture is her color. All the painting is red shade.

I like this picture because is erotic and naive at the same time, is suggestive… and I love when a image achieve to provoke this. I don’t like so much the explicit images… for this I love this picture, is beautiful to me.

My Favourite Movie

It's difficult to me choose my favourite movie, because I like a lot different types of movies. But, in this occasion I choose "Mulhollan Drive" by David Lynch. 


I like this movie, beacause is very strange. It' s a strange mixing between a thriller and a surrealistic film. I think is a movie more for to feel that to understand. The movie is very atmospheric, it isn`t  literal. "Mullholland Drive" manage to transmit different sensations like fear, sadness and even hapyness in some parts. The movie is wonderful. 


David Lynch, is a real good director. He has other fabulous movies like "Blue Velvet", "Wild at Hearth" and "Inland Empire". Him cinema is very interesting, because is very sensory, is a experience.


My favourite scene is the visit to the "Silent Club", is like a dream...

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is the DVD. When I was a kid, I had a VHS and I saw somes kids’s movies of Disney. Later, when I was a 13 years, in my house bought a DVD. In this time, I began to take interest for the art cinema.

I use the DVD in my house, when I want have a good moment with my family or me only watchining movies. Also, as I study Film and Television, usually I must watch movies for making homeworks and look for inspiration.

I like the DVD, because is more easy to get movies... before the films in VHS were very expensives and was very difficult copy them. Today the films in DVD are much more cheap and easy for to copy and this permit me watch much more movies.

If I would don’t have a DVD probably I would see less movies…

The music of "31 Minutos"

Hello! Today I gonna talk about music...



I'm not sure if is real band, but I love the songs of  the series "31 Minutos". The TV show was a news, but with the peculiarity what was a puppet show. In this series was a section call "Ranking Top", there were had differents singers and songs. Was so successful that made three albums of the TV show's songs.

I'm not sure what type of music do they play. There are some songs more rock music and others more pop music, even others more tecno music.


I'like this band, because the lyrics to the songs are very particular, intelligents and funnies. The melodies are very happy too. Is think is a familiar music, I think children and adults enjoy it.


Is difficult choose my favorit songs of "31 Minutos", but I choose "El dinosaurio Anacleto", because talk about the fake idea the money and the fame made the happiness... a necessary reflection in this society.

Auto-Biography

My full name is Alejandro Javier Iturra González. I was born in 25th August 1990 in Santiago, Chile. I studied in two school: the primary school was name Chilean Eagles College and my secondary school was name Nacional Institut. Now, I'm studie Film and Television at the University of Chile.

I live with my parents only, but I have two brothers and one sister. They are older than me and they have their own families. I have a five nephews and three nieces, they are charming.

My hobbies are go to theather, read a good book and see a lot of movies in my house. I like stay in my house and relax.

I like eat sweet food, I love the chocolates and the cakes.
